Flowers for every occasion….literally……courtesy of FlowersandCakes.com
This is the site dedicated to the charm, the beauty, and
the elegance of flowers and floral arrangements. As fellow
flower appreciators, we at FlowersandCakes.com wanted to
provide a forum wherein we could share ideas and referrals,
offer some ideas on good occasions to send flowers, and
offer our ideas on appropriate arrangements for specific
occasions.
To us, there honestly is no occasion where flowers are
inappropriate or tasteless. Can you truly think of any?
We showcase flowers to celebrate occasions such as weddings
and parties, and we send flowers to offer condolences
and honor someone's lost loved one. In good times and
bad, flowers are a guaranteed pick-me-up and a beautiful
way to tell someone they are in your thoughts.
I co-worker of mine sent his daughter flowers every year
on the first day of school starting with kindergarten.
All the way thru her college graduation, he would have
flowers sent to her on that first day. Sometimes he sent
them to school just to embarrass her a tiny bit. Other
times, he had them sent to a girlfriend's home where he
knew his daughter would be hanging out that afternoon.
And other years, he simply had them delivered to the house
for her. But she always knew her father was thinking of
her extra-special on those days. After enough years, she'd
have probably been crushed if he didn't send them.
I myself just sent flowers to a friend last week because
she was starting grad school that day. She's gone to night
school the last few years while holding a regular job
as well. I know sometimes she is really stressed out and
had some nervous anticipation about starting this new
chapter. So I sent her flowers on her first day. She LOVED
them! She's still thanking me and telling me how they
really boosted her spirits.
The truth is, any occasion is a great occasion for flowers:
birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, first-days-of-school,
landing a new job, receiving a promotion, a substantial
scholastic achievement, a sporting achievement, the obvious
holidays such as Mother's Day or Valentine's Day, retirements,
moms having just had a baby, etc.
Of course, there needn't even be a specific occasion other
than to just tell a person you love them or really appreciate
them and their friendship. Ever dour occasions can be
the prompt. As mentioned, I've never been to a funeral
that didn't have flowers. But if a dear friend were to
lose their job. Or be bypassed for a desired promotion.
Or be battling a flu bug that just won't go away. Maybe
you have a friend who is just feeling down and embattled
lately. Any one of these people would really appreciate
the beauty of the gift and even more so, the gesture you
made to them.
So join us here regularly at FlowersandCakes.com to discuss
the floral world and appreciate together the wonder and
enchantment of flowers.
